what is in a foster the love placement bag?

backpack or zippered duffel bag
pajamas
socks, underwear
small stuffed animal
small blanket
age appropriate book
toothbrush/toothpaste
bath soap

All items must fit in the bag to prevent items from being lost in transport.

Do all items have to be brand new?

YES! The only exception is if you make a hand-made blanket that has never been used.

Many counties only accept brand-new donations & we want the kids to feel as special, important, & deserving of new items as they are!
 

What ages are needed the most?

The needs are constantly fluctuating. all ages are welcome.

Can my CHURCH OR business be a drop off site?

YES! We are always looking for more drop off sites to make it convenient for those donating!

How are the bags distributed?

Foster the Love works closely with social workers and foster agencies to deliver the bags directly to the kiddos of Minnesota.

Who can put together a bag?

ANYONE! You can do it alone, you can do it with your church, your community group, your adoption/foster care group, your block club, your friends...! 

If you are financially unable to put a bag together by yourself, partner with a friend or another family to put together a bag! We love getting kids involved and they love helping pick out the items!

But adults can have just as much fun with it too! ;)
 

What is the average cost of a bag?

Typically, putting together a PLACEMENT bag costs $60 TO $100.

Fleet Farm, T.J. MAxX, and Walmart have frequent sales on backpacks!

Dollar Stores are another great place to find bath soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, books, and stuffed animals!
 

Can I donate other items besides a placement bag?

Unless we know of a specific need for a foster care family, FLM does not accept other donations at this time.

Can I make a financial donation?

Yes! FLM IS A REGISTERED 501c3 NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION. YOU can make a tax-deductible donation on our Donate page!
